[s-cars] NAC (other than my S6 is in the barn) How do I SAFELYdispose of a gas tank?

If you think you have it bad my friend has a boat with 90 gals of old fuel sitting in his yard.

I would personally opt for the lawn mower idea. Just watch out for any water at the bottom of the tank.

Bob confirmed what I planned to do. (although I didn't want to do the fan
part until I realized outdoors, there is no way for the fuel to get even
close to stoichometric.

As for the fill water, I guess the environmentalist in me (I literally sit
above the aquifer I drink from) doesn't like the idea of dumping the
water with trace fuel in it into the ground. My background suggests
the ground will be completely unable to filter the fuel before the water
gets to the aquifer. And as for the atmosphere, I've transferred all
but the trace fuels into an old gas can, which I'll take to a recycler
to do whatever they do with it. It's so full of dirt and rust and it's
nearly 2 years old, so I wouldn't even put it in a lawnmower. And,
it's only about 2 gallons, so I hardly feel like I'm wasting money.

Thanks, one and all.
