[s-cars] Headlight Washer System Question

S-Heads,

Finally got my car back from the Body Shop after pickup backed into front.
One system that was damaged was the headlight washers. I refilled the
washer fluid reservoir so I could test the system (The accident had broken
both ends of the washer system off, thus any fluid just drains out). Let
me define what I call the "ends" of the system;

A. There is the cosmetic rectangular plastic trim piece which covers the
nozzles
B. The actual nozzles which form a "T" shaped tube. This tube joins
another tube that contains the system that I believe actually pressurizes
the nozzles.
C. This part is called the "pressure cylinder" in the Bentley. It is an
cylindrical piece, with a pipe exiting the headlight side of the assembly.
This pipe (female end) exiting the has a slightly larger diameter than
the "T" shaped part with the nozzle(male).

When I refilled the reservoir I noticed leaks coming out in the vicinity of
both headlight washers.
I pulled the "T" shaped piece out by hand, to extend the assembly and
noticed black sticky goo around the joint between the "T" shaped washer
jets piece and the "pressure cylinder" outlet pipe. Ever so slowly, the
"T" shaped piece started to slide out, the black sticky goo was unable to
keep in place until the entire "T" shaped jet piece disconnected from the
"pressure cylinder" exiting pipe (I know that last paragraph was a doozey
for you guys with your minds in the gutter, you welcome for that soft
pitch, let er rip).

I suspect that Hans and Franz did not use this method at the factory when
our cars were new, but never having inspected this system before I can't be
sure.

Does anyone know how these 2 pieces are supposed to mate? Bentley seems to
indicate that this is just a compression fitting, but I'd like to know for
sure.

I'm going back to the body shop for this, a few runs in the paint
(hopefully its just the clear coat, but anyone know how to tell if it's one
or the other visually), and the fact that the last monkey lad to work on
the car apparently didn't fasten my custom undertray with extra intercooler
"scoopage", which fell off promptly after reaching highway speed on the
interstate and was squished by Miss Piggy and countless other cars headed
to the beach that day.

TIA
