[s-cars] 'tweren't the fuel pump

although I replaced the fuel pump and verified that the pump is
running, the car still just cranks. VAG-COM showed no codes.

hmmm...   it's gotta be one of: fuel, air, spark. let's verify these.

I sprayed ether into the snorkle and cranked for all she was worth. It
started and sort of ran, so that means that the engine can get air and
has spark. that still leaves fuel. maybe the injectors aren't being
triggered somehow.

to run the output test: hear valves valve, injectors inject and
nothing...

I've got the factory jumper and followed the guide, but got nothing.

I could set it via VAG-COM if I knew where to go. I think we're on to something.
