Hi Chris,

Fairly straight forward if you've removed the cold air intake snorkel - no
need to remove the front cross member. Need to de-tension tensioner, remove
cam belt pulley and CPS is mounted on a bracket. The actual device is not
likely to have blown but one of the three wires may have become open circuit
some where between device case and connector. In my case it was right
against moulding of device.

I went to breaker of Euro cars and obtained a rotor arm for a Volvo from
about 1988 - uses exact same hall device - for cdn$50. Removed it and placed
it on to mounted bracket with SS pop rivets. A replacement CPS costs just
under cdn$500 from stealer or $200 from http://www.germanautoparts.com/ or
similar.

How hard is it to replace the CPS and is it mucho denero?
Anyone have a wriet up to test/replace that?

Is the CPS a part only the Urs4 takes?
