S-Heads,

<<snippy snip snip>>
A lot of insight could be gained if someone could put a
scope on the drive signal to these coil units on a running
1.8T engine. You could at least get the pulse widths and
signal levels.
Putting a current probe around the coil battery connection
and 'scoping it would also be very useful. That way you
could see the current ramp up and determine its maximum level.
These results could then be compared to what we've got
on the AAN.
<<ahh -- snip>>

I have an oscilloscope I bought about 15 years ago at a garage sale, just
because it looked cool. I haven't that damdest idea how to use it, or for
that matter, if it works properly, but if there is some brainiac (cranium
half the size of Pizzo's would probably do) in the Washington DC area who
does, and would like to try to get in on this test, I'd be happy to lend my
scope for the experiment. I think it would be a bit far for Dave to drive
down from the great white north, unless of course he's going to THE S-FEST,
eh PK?
