You'd be surprised at the number of automakers using powdered metal
components in their engines, transmission and transfer cases.

A very good friend of mine is in the powdered metal business- he
supplies Nissan, GM, BMW, Porsche, etc.

According to what I've read and from him, powdered metal components
(done right of course) are better than castings in a lot of ways.
