[s-cars] Brake boost not working?

My car is back up and running (finally) but we seem to have hit a bit
of a hitch.

Mechanic reports that the brake boost doesn't seem to be working
(brakes are VERY stiff).

Engine has been out of the car for about 2.5 months...

Any ideas??

Looks like I don't get to enter the VW/Audi car show tomorrow 
(will have to take the MX5 and park in the visitors parking!... :-(   )
