Be careful here as there is some compressed energy with the spring in
there. The cap hangs up on the studs that you undid the bolts from.
Wiggle it around and tap it with said mallet and it should shake free.
You might want to have a hand pushing against the spring until it
breaks free.

If one removes the six 8mm nuts securing the cover in place, would one

able to remove said cap? Mine will not budge. The cap over the
adjustment bolt
is still intact and I am not planning on removing it. Any idears would
