The problem with the Craftsman socket, at least the old one I have, is
that it only has a small detent cut into the drive end for the friction
ball on the extension to grab onto. The Snap-on version I have has a
through hole, which is designed for extensions with locking pins, but
the end result is that standard extensions grab on much better since the
friction ball can fully extend. You may want to try drilling a hole on
the side of your socket to line up with one of the flats on the drive
end. This should definitely help the extension lock on better.
