Hello Vincent,
I think you're right about the different versions of the FA. I'd love to
know why they give smaller brakes to US cars with identical engines and
weights. Is it something to do with the old 55mph max top speed?
I was amazed at the poor range of my Remote Controls. At first I thought it
was dead batteries, or dirty optics, but it's not. Both cars and all three
remotes behave identically. Sometimes I have to be so close to the car in
order to get the RC to work, that I could reach out and put the key in the
lock!
The one advantage that the short range has, is that if somebody ever steals
my keys and goes into the car park and presses the RC button, nothing will
happen!!
Paul

So I probably have a UK spec family album. I was already suspecting it was
not an US spec as, in the album, my S6 was supposed to have real brakes
instead of the skinny 276mm rotors with G60.
Now, I know.
By the way, do you know the IR keyless module can be replaced by a generic
RF one. There is a post on Audiworld about that in case you'd want a better
range from your remotes.
Vincent.
