Update. Managed to remove the timing belt cover by just pinning back the
tensioner, did not have to remove it. Now for the cam sprocket. Need a
tool...

Tony;
To remove the T-belt cover you have to release the two clips and remove the
serpentine belt tensioner. To get at the CPS you'll have to remove the cam
pulley and the backing plate for the t-belt cover if I remember correctly.

RE: [s-cars] Removing Timing Belt CoverThanks James. I plan to remvoe the
CPS to check the wiring for breaks. Do I have to remove the tensioner?
I'll look for another clip.

Tony, I remember having problems with this too... if I remember correctly
there is more than two clips, look farther down on the left hand side...
that or it's something to do with the way it fits into the bottom cover
(memory is foggy). In any case it was much easier to remove once I started
taking off all the parts to get to the belts...
Unless you plan to replace the CPS, you won't get much benifit from
removing the cover. The wire snakes behind the cam sprocket into the CPS,
the connector is on the outside next to the first injector.

Getting around to check out the wiring of the CPS and can not remove the
timing belt cover. I release the two clips but cover only comes out about
an
inch before jamming.
Is there a knack to removing this?
TIA
