[s-cars] Help! How do I get the spark plugs out of an AAN???

I use a regular sparkplug socket from Canadian Tire and it fits just right.
As I was tired of pulling the socket with long nose pliers because the
extension will come off each time, I just glued a 4" extension to the socket
with JB Weld. No more pliers needed. Any way, as my two cars are 20V, I need
an extension on each car so why keep the extension removable.

I got a sudden permanent misfire a few days ago - cylinder #2 isn't firing.

I took off the top alloy cover (four hex bolts) to reveal the coils and the
recesses that the spark plugs live in, and discovered that recess #5 is
black and charred - obviously a leaking spark plug. So I tried to take the
plug out and discovered that none of my three spark plug removal tools will
fit down the hole!!!

Do I need to take the entire cam cover off? Surely not! The Bentley says
the following:
- Remove screws from ignition coil mounting bracket (arrows).
- Remove spark plugs tools

No mention of any special spark plug tools or further dismantling of the cam
cover.

Do I need to buy a special slim spark plug socket?
