okay scott, my money would be on an improper ground as well.  however,once 
you check a half dozen or so of those, -and if it doesnt remedy the problem-
, you might want to turn your attention to the switch/lever on the dash that 
controls the lights.  i had a very similar problem w/my 5000 and after all 
grounds were OK'd the lever attached to the steering wheel turned out to be 
the culprit. just so ye know.

as for mr. greaves,  my condolences..    however acceptable divorce would be 
for such an incident,(sorry..couldnt resist kidding) find solace in the 
proverbial trump card you hold for any future quarreling (:

if your insurance doesnt total it, or even if they do.. i will have all the 
pieces you'll need.  the only problem of course would be color...   the 
pieces are the ever so elusive green.  alright, bad joke again, green is 
everywhere, but not for the prices im willing to part with.   if you did 
want the parts th only issue would be distance between me in PA and you in 
GA.... although i will be in VA in a couple weeks.  again, just so ya know
