Are you suggesting that the ECU is seeing some different value than the lines under the firewall cover?  The ECU is directly connected to the IM, just like everything else.  In fact, are all plumbed from the same area on the IM.

that works fine if you want to measure manifold pressure/vacuum. if
you want to measure the pressure/vacuum that the ECU sees (which can
be different), look in the passenger footwell. run the line just under
the lip of the dash.
