I don't know why you would add to the high side, but you likely require 
service equipment to boost the pressure to that above the system operating 
pressure.

One thing to anyone who decides to play with topping up on the low side... 
Do not add liquid, only vapor.

My experience is with residential A/C systems and may not apply fully to 
vehicles, but bad things can happen when you add liquid on the low side.
