[s-cars] Heater control flap motor

This morning my heater control seemed to make no difference with 
changing the temperature setting.  No matter what number I selected, I 
got nothing but cold air.  I removed the cowl cover and discovered while 
my wife ran the temperature control up and down, the flap mechanism did 
not move. So, I remove the motor and find that it works fine when not 
attached to the mechanism.  I found no binding in the plastic mechanism 
when manually operating the flap mechanism. I am tempted to take the 
motor apart and try to lubricate it, but I am concerned about a note 
that is written in German on a red label on the motor.  It says: 
"Achtung! Nur im angebauten Zustand mit Steuergeraet betreiben!"  Before 
I open it, would someone please translate this for me.

Also, has anyone had any success with opening the motor and cleaning it 
instead of replacing it?  I am hoping that cleaning the gears and 
brushes inside may solve the problem, or will I find that they will all 
fall out when I remove the cover?
