[s-cars] SAT Radio/ Antenna problem solved

After a month of carrying-on and internet searching, I fixed things to my 
liking. FWIW, forget trying to locate a new/good used S4 power antenna, 
unless you have the patience to search the net/boneyards every day. I ended 
up buying a Harada antenna for a 92 jetta ($12) and splicing it into the 
original cable. The fit is perfect and a few wire tires keep it located 
inside the trunk. The big upgrade was that i just installed Sirius Sat. 
radio last night. I was suprised how easy and OEM-like it all went together. 
I paid about $150 total for the kit and it works perfect. The antenna sits 
nicely on the LR section of the roof, and the wire gets run down the rear 
window channel and into the trunk. The wire can be nicely concealed by 
carefully cutting some black electrical tape and placing it on top of the 
wire and pressing it into the channel. Hard to see unless you look close. 
The actual 'head-unit' mounts perfectly to the left of the turnsignal stalk, 
just below the RS air vent. Although this unit comes with a cig lighter 
adapter, i snipped it off and hardwired the dock to the 10mm B+ terminals 
just on the other side of the underdash plate. In all it is easy to install 
this very clean. I chose Sirius for a number of reasons, that being that all 
the premium stuff XM charges you extra for is free with Sirius, plus i hear 
the programming is a bit more diverse. But either way, both should give you 
plenty of good listening...
