When this happened to me I took my car to a local windshield replacement
centre and they glued it back on for free. It's a service they offer to get
you back when the windshield needs replacing. They have also fixed a stone
chip for free. Also had two windshields replaced there on other cars.

I've used them with success. Make sure the glass
is shiny clean. I scraped off the old adhesive
with a single-blade scraper, used glass cleaner,
then rubbing alcohol to make it spotless. Also,
make sure the temperature is 70 degrees or so.

When I used it, I glued the small metal plate to
the windshield [1], secured with tape -- it hangs
upside down, so I used tape to make sure it stayed
pressed to the windshield. I let it set overnight
before I attached the mirror itself.

[1] I don't know if the Audi mirror is one piece
or if the mirror attached to a plate with a set
screw. YMMV.
