I'm copying the list on my response, hope you don't mind.

Um, cheap floor jack?

Are you working under a cheap floor jack?

I *hope* you're also using jack stands.

I use two blocks of 2" wood, 12" wide and 18-30" long, nailed together
to
make a wide 4" ramp.

I drive up on these two blocks (one pair on each side) and the 4" gives
me
enough additional clearance to be able to work under the car.

And the wood is pretty sturdy. To drain the last few ounces of oil, I
then
use my floor jack to lift the right side off the blocks. But I would not
get
under a car that's only being held up by a floor jack...

Heh, I've got the POS'est of POS Craftsman ghetto floorjacks (gotta be
20 years old at that) that EASILY lifts the car enough for me to get
under there (*with* a tactfully placed jackstand typically, though to
change the oil you're only barely under the nose so that's been known to
happen w/o one, contrary to being a Darwin Award Candidate, just don't
go too far under there.).

Does that detract from the convenience of Fumoto??? No f'n way, like I
said, with jacking, 15 minutes. Maybe. Including storing the jack!
