Can anyone explain the VIN split? I have seen this on the LuK site and
now with Centerforce. I wasn't aware of any difference between an early
'92 transmission/flywheel and a later one.

My original clutch still has about half the material left. The flywheel
is in great shape. I figured I would replace the clutch or upgrade it
while I had the tranny out for my 6 speed swap. I wanted to make sure I
could still use my stock flywheel with a Centerforce clutch. I've heard
from a couple people that you can which is great news. Now to find a
good deal on a Centerforce clutch, so I won't be tempted by the amazing
price I was quoted a stock LuK.

Gabriel,
Typically when you replace a clutch on an older car you
resurface the flywheel. Since our cars have a Dual-Mass flywheel they
are not resurfaceable typically and thus need to be replaced w/ NEW OEM.
The cost difference from NEW OEM and a 12lb Alum FW is around 75 to 100
bucks.

Cheers

Cody

Does using the Centerforce dual friction clutch kit require you to get a
new flywheel, or can you use the stock dual mass unit?
