The integrated microphone has a preamp. The question is: is this
preamp integrated with the microphone itself or is it further down the
circuit?
The reason I ask is that I am looking at installing a bluetooth
handsfree kit into my 97 S6 by wiring the components into the stock
existing components like you described. Couldn't I just cut the stock
microphone out of the A-pillar and splice in the microphone they
provide; thus, I would eliminate the need to run the new microphone
wiring?
It seems like it should be a straight forward install using the
existing RJ-45 connection in the console and the RS-232 type connector
in the trunk. Just wire the pieces accordingly in the trunk...
