WRT test piping;
I have a friend that runs a test pipe and he thinks the car makes LESS noise
with NO stink whatsoever, LITTLE if any burbling and buttdyno reports a
perception of better breathing/more power.  He has often contemplated
dropping the exhaust from the downpipe back and adding a side pipe for track
events, but wonders about the wisdom of running the exhaust pipe under the
gas line (although it would be cool for a second to tap into the gas line
and achieve some incredible flames out the side pipe;)
FWIW, Prior to his current configuration, my friend WITH cat also had zero
CO (which the tester reported never ever seeing before.)  Then he crack
piped his cat running some 110 leaded gas and could not pass emissions until
his cat was replaced.
