[s-cars] radio code/volume knob static

The volume knob on my '95 Bose is starting to give me trouble.  I either sometimes get static or lose power depending on volume level.
 
I think I remember reading on the list that it was possible to dissasemble and clean the 'contacts' (for lack of correct term) behind the volume knob.
 
I was about to purchase a used radio from a source with a wrecked S6 and luckilly saw this thread so I can ask him if he has the code.  I do have a friend that used to be in the car audio business that I could probably talk into looking at my current radio.
