Subject: [s-cars] Fuel Pump Gone?
Hi Everyone,
I think that my fuel pump has gone to heaven. I just went out and it
turns over fine, plenty of power, but no "go". Is there a writeup or
pictures anywhere out there that might aid me in replacing this? TIA.
PS - Anyone want to buy a really clean S6 - slightly modded? I now
have a baby on the way and can't afford two needy children!!

Wow Evan... congrats (on the baby part, not the no go part)! Good for
you.
Is this happening from cold, from hot, all the time, never starts, what?
Any codes? I'd think CPS before FP with your mileage. Check codes,
then crack the fuel line @ the filter and see if any spurt (cover with
rag).
Mine started hard hot starting, ended up being FPR. After I'd done the
FP of course, d'oh. One less thing to do down the road right 8-). If
it is the FP, good news is it's only ~ $100 and an easy DIY job, once
you learn the secret (and stinky) handshake of getting the sucker out.
Er, don't pitch it, you'll regret it. Stay on top of it, keep the wife
in the er dark regarding repairs. Buy an extended warranty NOW if you
can.
Good luck on the car, and to you and your wife.
-Paul thinking no more kiddies! K.
