make sure you have at least 3-ton jackstands, and get the car up higher
so you have more room to work. as long as you have decent jackstands,
don't worry about applying force to the car. if you want to test it,
you can give the car a big shove after putting it up on jackstands, which
is what i usually do.

no, it won't. but you have to take out that shield. you won't be
able to get the axleshaft out until you do.

3-ton jackstands, and a floor jack with at least 16" of lift. don't
forget to block the rear wheels.
