I know, not NY, but speaking of test drives, has anyone done this, or have
any insight on what BMW CCA offers? Anyone else on the list thinking, or
thought about doing the Nurbugring school?

Subject: Nurburgring Update 1 - You're IN!
CONGRATULATIONS!
You now have a reservation for the 2005 International BMW Driving School at
the Nurburgring! Thank you for following the call-in procedure that gives
everyone an equal chance to get one of the limited spaces.
I want to extend a particular welcome to those who are signing up for their
first Nurburgring School. This is an amazing experience; so much fun that
there's a good chance you'll be back for more. How do I know? Several of
this year's group have done the Nurburgring School before! We're always
happy to add to the number of experienced Nurburgringers, but I must remind
first-timers that this School is designed for drivers who already have some
other track experience. You should have a minimum of 3 BMW CCA Driving
Schools (or equivalent) in your experience before attempting to master the
Nurburgring. Between now and August, there is still time to participate in
some Schools stateside to get prepared. If you have questions, contact me.
Suggestions on your travel arrangements. Departures on August 2nd will get
you to Frankfurt in plenty of time to make the Welcome Reception on the
evening of the 3rd. For your departure, I urge you to schedule no earlier
than 1:00pm on 11 August from Frankfurt (2 hr drive, rental return, 2-hour
check-in). The 3-7 August activities are optional but highly recommended.
It is OK to show up at the track mid-afternoon on the 7th if you don't have
as much time available.
This is just the first of regular update emails you'll receive. We'll have
a registration process coming up soon, where you can let us know your
specific lodging needs during the 3-11 August time span. We'll make all
hotel reservations for you. While I'll offer some links for rental cars
later, all driving partners will ultimately be making their own
reservations, so you might want to look into that now. We're finalizing a
special deal for BMW rental cars, so I'll let you know when that is
available (wise to have a redundant reservation you can cancel). The final
fee will be set just a few weeks before the event because BMW CCA prices the
School at our cost, and that is determined by the Euro/Dollar exchange rate
when we transfer funds just before the School. If you haven't already, you
can get a lot more details from the FAQ and itinerary at our website:

Back to you soon!
