[s-cars] The Don makes a cameo at Pikes Peak

Wanted to report to the list that Good 'Ol Frank the Don Amoroso brought his fine '93 urS to the local BMW CCA DS at Pikes Peak Int'l raceway this past weekend.
 
Frank's kinda busy these days...  What with his budding cable TV career possibility and all  :)  so I thought I would report in - I know he won't have time.
 
I was Frank's instructor and I must say he has really come up the learning curve the past 2 years since last I rode with him!
 
I scammed on him to let me take the black beast out for a cruise during the lunch-time instructor drive session.  All I can say is WOW.  This car is very well dialed in.  I _think_ I even got the beast to OVERSTEER just a bit once or twice.  Howz that for a 3800 lb. Miss Piggy?  An Oh BTW, Yes Frank does have the mambo rear Happer-bar on the car set to med. stiff position.  Must admit I was in the skeptic camp with respect to this bar...  now I believe.
 
Car was fantastic to flog around this relatively short track.  (you can hit about a buck-15 on the back straight)   The snick-snick of the lead filled 6-speed shifter, the Toyo RA1s, the RS2 turbo, the Big yellows mit Pagid oranges (gotta love all those colors)  and the 3" turbo-back OPEN exhaust the Frank has been bragging about is EVERYTHING and more (Loud??  what Loud??) he has been saying that it is.  It sounded positively awe-inspiring inside a car with open windows and a nice concrete wall along the main straight for the sound to echo off of.  Brrrrrrappppppp. Sweet AAN on full song.
 
Sheesh - Drove my '93 to work the next day an thought that something was positively wrong with it...  The I remembered... Mine is relatively stock compared to this beast
 
Ya gotta love a guy that will let you take his baby out for a friendly flogging, right?
