[s-cars] Driveshaft Rebuild Question

Someone recently rebuilt one, ie with the Mercedes center bearing 
requiring modification of the center support bracket. How was the 
modification done? Any pics? This particular car is a 5 speed 95 A6 but 
the process has to be pretty near identical, I would guess...replacing 
the complete shaft through Audi is needlessly costly.
All suggestions appreciated.
