As always I have an opinion, coating anything hot to keep the hot in
will tend to increase the velocity, good and bad here, it has a similar
effect of reducing the size of the exhaust tube diameter. I have seen
this data on an engine dyno with a motor that was already pushing an
exhaust pipe diameter that was a bit small, increased the restriction
and reduced the hp, but if I remember gained some torque. I think if
you plan on it it's ok, I sort of think the rs2 is pretty small to start
so maybe not, but it's possible that you could get it to spool up a bit
faster and that you could loose a bit of you hp at the high end. Or
maybe no effect at all, no data as it relates to your motor.

Just looking for some S-list wisdom about ceramic coating as it relates
to exhaust manifolds and turbos. Should I do it or not? Should I do
both inside and out? Or just inside or just outside?

Just planning ahead.... I have a new RS2 turbo (sitting in my garage)
and I'll get an EM after my wallet has been buried a little longer. To
properly plan how long my wallet should be buried, I need to know the
list consensus about ceramic coating things.

So, for the EM, coat both inside and out? Just inside? Just outside?

And what about the turbo? Is it advisable to do any ceramic coating?
If so, what parts/sides of the housing? Hot side only? Hot and cold
side both? Both inside and out? Just inside? Just outside? or DON"T
DO THAT?

What say ye?
