Heck, since the paint is the same on all VAG products.
My bought since new GTi was Autocrossed on it's stock rims (talk about
Brake Dust!) for 10 seasons. Heavily. Those rims looked fine, and I
didn't always have
the time to clean them after events.
My Mom's Passat GLX, which she NEVER cleans (damn shame), has clearcoated
turned aluminum rims. Aside from the curb rash, they look perfect.
My 200Q, stock rims looked fine for the 5 years I ran them, the A4
5-spokes also look fine. (can't comment on the snowy rims, Ur5000
turbos $5 each from a U-pull-It, painted with K-mart silver paint,
still holding up, but thinning).
My Avus snow rims on my S6, aside from where the curb rash is, AND a
weird bubbled patch on one rim that no longer has original paint,
totally fine.
Seller is talking out his...donkey!
