Thanks for everybody's input on whether you have a "solid" cap or one
with a mini-center cap. I have just discovered the truth. And boy does
it hurt.

All the caps, even those that look solid, have a removable center
mini-cap. How do I know this? Let me tell you:

It all starts months ago when a guy at work "scored" at good deal on
Bosch 1/2" gear reduction drill on ebay. He bought a few and sold one
to me. I had never used it and left it in the garage. So it was handy
last weekend when I decided to remove my mini-cap and turn my waste gate
down. Can you see where this is going?

Now I won't take the full blame here because Hans unt Franz did a number
on me too: I do have a mini-center cap. However, it is aluminum not
brass or steel. And its 1.5 mm thick. How do I know this now? Because
I removed the mangled and abused cap and its in my hand. Now I can see
that there is a mini-cap. I can also see the treads from the adjustment
screw that I have now drilled through (partially) with my lovely and
powerful Bosch drill. I can also see what remains of the hex-head
socket of the adjustment screw. I weep.

Now I have to try to bail myself out of this mess. If any of you know
where I might be able to score a virgin waste gate cap, please let me
know.

I have to go now. My foot has an appointment with my butt.

:-(
