[s-cars] "Long" Term Storage

Hi All:

I just purchased another vehicle ('04 Toyota 4Runner Sport V8) that has 2
years and 28K miles left on the manufacturer's warranty. As such, I plan on
putting the //S under some anesthesia and operating on her while I log the
miles on the warranteed vehicle. I plan on having her on stands on all four
corners so that I can do suspension work including bushings, motor mounts,
tranny mounts, tranny seals, rear diff replacement, RS2 conversion, etc.,
etc.

I have fresh brake fluid (one year ago anyway) and I need an oil change
pretty soon (have almost 4K miles). I replaced my timing belt back in
September of '01 which is the age of my coolant. Should I replace my
coolant before putting her to sleep? I'm not overly concerned with rodents
as I will be in and around her quite a bit. I will have the battery on a
battery tender to make sure it remains good. What else might I consider? I
could feasibly see her "asleep" for over a year with the occasional
awakening to test my work.

Any and all advice welcome.

Regards,

Mark
