all recent emails have been relative to a new battery. the problem
existed and continues through the replacement of the battery. i have
not checked the 5amp fuse after connecting the old battery again, but
i don't see that making a difference.

when you say "most of the circuit", what does that reference? i'm
trying to determine if something, relative to the ECU, is still
functioning. thanks.
