Just to chime in on this quickly, my car was exhibiting symptoms
similar to this and the shop I brought it to initially thought it was
a bad ECU. After subsequent testing, they found that a pin on the ECU
wasn't getting signal from the ignition switch (which got hot somehow
and melted some of the circuitry inside of it) and that was what was
causing the problem. I was rather shocked, as I had replaced the
switch just last summer at the Mihnea tuning session in CT with Paul K
and crew. I wasn't blowing fuses, but it still may be something worth
looking into.
