[s-cars] Whats the best chipset for a full RS2

Thanks for your input! At one time I also had the MTM Stage 1 w/3bar sensor. Thankfully I never experienced pinging. I did however find the mid throttle response to be very abrupt compare to the lehmann chipset. This only became annoying while trying to be moderately agressive during city driving. From the responses I do believe MRC will be my choice. It seems they can offer custom chipsets for an array of setups, not just a broad range chipset. Hoppen with his MTM chipset could not tell me if it was programmed with the RS2 MAF & Exhaust cam in mind. How is your throttle response? Is your boost 24-26psi? I was also considering at this point looking into a FMIC. I would just hate to wast money on upgrading the chipset again. Unfortunately unless I find a reasonable FMIC this will not happen. Have you noticed a great improvement with the addition of yours?
Thanks Dan

Daniel,
I had an MTM Stage 1+ (3 bar bosch) that would occassionally
ping on what I would call mid throttle tip in. I was told that
this was a known and common issue with this chipset. By
switching to SUNOCO Ultra, this condition lessened a bit but
was still there.
When I was trying to decide about the RS2 conversion I weighed
my experience with the MTM and decided that I wanted to reduce
the chance of any detonation, so I was a bit leery of trying
the RS2 MTM chipset.
I spent some time looking around, but was fortunate that
Mihnea was coming Stateside to do batches of in-car custom
tuning sessions. I was again fortunate enough to get a spot in
the session at Paulies in CT. I specifically asked Mihnea to
be 'conservative' in the tuning, as I really wanted the piece
of mind that I wouldn't hear any audible pinging like the old
MTM 1+. I'm glad I did, because shortly thereafter SUNOCO
decided they were no longer going to sell Ultra 94 in my area.
I'm happy to say that I've never heard any pinging with the
MRC chipset with either Ultra 94 or normal super unleaded.
I've also convinced myself that there's nothng I can really do
about the pinging you can't hear, so I'm not worrying about it.
If you manage to get Mihnea back to NA for another round of
tuning, I'd be interested in having him retune for my current
configuration.
Good luck.

When I purchased the Lehmann chipset it was packaged with the
RS2 turbo & exhaust manifold but not the injectors or RS2 MAF.
This makes me feel it has the appropriate programing for the
turbo but possibly not the Injectors & MAF. I do suspect that
it is running rich but have not installed the Air/Fuel guage
yet to verify. Sean Douglas has left his remarks about his
experiences with various chipsets for which I am grateful. Are
there any others out there that had similar problems as I ?
Are there any others out there who can share their knowledge &
experience with various chipsets for Our RS2'd cars. I have
not heard about MTM or MRC. Please help I need desperately to
solve this problem.

Now I see he only offers the MTM version. At this point I have

strong pulls ended however when I installed the RS2 injectors
& MAF sensor.
If you want to use the MTM K24 software then switch your
injectors back to stock. Otherwise you will be running much
too rich. Also the boost will be less than possible at
redline. The boost above 5500 rpm is dialed back for the K24
and the RS2 can sustain a much higher boost level all the way
to redline ... one of the main reasons to put in an RS2 turbo.
