There's really no good radiant path between where my IC is mounted, and the major heat sources... except maybe the hot pavement, and the radiator.  Intake temps tend to soar because the IM gets hot (conduction from head)... and flow is low (poor IC conduction... low flow of air through the IM).
 
25% efficiency of a total blocked IC is a Corky figure... never tried it myself.  But remember, it has nothing to do with radiant transfer... it's simply conduction... from an IC to ambient air.  Conduction can and will occur even if the air is not moving.

Radiative heat is certainly still an issue at the drag strip.  Ask
anybody that monitors intake temps at the drag strip.  Intake temps go
way up in the staging lanes.  BTDT.

25% seems high, but I can believe some radiative cooling at rest.
