I haven't tried those.

I have tried the 9012 HIRs from Daniel Stern Lighting.  They are a 
substantial upgrade from ordinary 9006 bulbs.  I would guess that 
they are better than the Silverstars too.

I currently have the 9011 HIRs in the high beams.  They are extremely good.
I would try them in the low beams too if I was going the HIR route again.

Instead, I just installed the HID conversion kit that Steve Powers
linked to a group buy for a few weeks ago (thanks Steve).  So far I 
am very happy with it.  It looks OEM, with no hot spots or other
weirdness, and the cutoff is if anything sharper than with the HIRs 
(i.e. they are in focus).  Plug and play (almost).  Light output is 
white with no blue.

I've actually been looking forward to driving home in the dark the last
few days...
