No real different than "re-programming" carbs back in the old days.
"Old School" :-) (I think I am getting sick of this reference now)

Really, before fool injection, we could adjust the jets in carbs, adjust 
when secondaries came in. And of course time the crap outta the motor.
So really nothing would change, other than it would be easier to keep your 
cuticles clean ;-)
