For all out ice driving there are, IMO&PE only two (2). Either the
Bridgestone Blizak LM50 or its equivalent; or the Nokia Rsi. Accept no
substitutes. Verdicts still out on the Michelin "Ice-X" Now, if you want
to throw in surfaces other than extreme ice & snow, the range of
choices/trade offs widens.

Otherwise, an old V8 rear torsen is also a really, really good idea. Did I
say really, really really good idea?

YMMV, but the above are the product of several years of both the Audi Club
NA, Rocky Mountain area Steamboat events, and ...
the www.gruppe-q.com experience + side by side 95 Audi Avant wagon (stock
springs and suspension +V8 rear torsen in place of the OEM EDL system vs. a
93 UrS4 Sedan on an Eibach suspension but with stock rear locking rear diff
system.

BTW, if you haven't done Steamboat, either with the Audi Club or privately
through the Bridgestone/Toyota school (see www.winterdrive.com ) or for the
more advanced level, the crazy Chicago crowd, Gruppe-Q, you really haven't
lived! Just ask Pizzo.
