I've done 2 s-car clutches and on both there was no significant wear on the
flywheel. I just scuffed them up with some 100 grit emory cloth to get rid of
the shine. No problems with either one. YMMV

I'm doing a clutch job on my 1997 S6 and have heard that the dual mass
flywheel cannot be re-surfaced. But others have had it done by certain
machine
shops.
I think it comes down to the skill of the machinist.
Any recommendations or BTDT?
Thanks,
Sean
