Jim,

"I replaced the coil at #4 cylinder (no splicing, I did it the
correct way)....."

I'm curious, how did you replace the coil without splicing in
the new one into the existing wiring?

I developed a misfire under heavy load at the track last
weekend and since all 5 coils are relatively new I'm a bit
dissappointed. On the street I haven't noticed a misfire at
all. I'm guessing each 20 minute track session exposed a weak
link somewhere.

This demon first manifested itself after a removed the coil
cover to check plug tightness after about 3 - 20 min track
sessions (and wouldn't you know, all the plugs were tight).
That check seemed simple enough and took all of 10 minutes, so
I've been scratching my head trying to figure out how I could
have possibley buggered things up. At that same time I also
added some 110 Octane leaded (no kitty for the track event) as
I was low on go-juice as well. So my 2 variables were removal
of the coil pack to check for plug tightness and adding about
10 gallons of 110 Octane leaded gas.

All my coils were soldered into some of the existing wiring,
with heat shrink wrap covering the solder joints, under the
coil cover. If my memory serves me, I don't think the coils
had long enough leads to reach the POS's without some more
wire, but I could be mistaken. The new coils definitely
didn't have any connectors at the end oif the wires.
