Bill Mahoney, blazing toward yet ANOTHER slippery slope. Home
Theater..$1500 HAH!
Whoa Bill, it all starts with the infamous Plasma or LCD or whatever
display purchase.
Then off you go into the whirled (what?) of DVI and HDMI.. Cables ,
acoustic treatment, new
Sofa for the 'theater' with a high Wife Acceptance Factor, drapes-> A
nice pedestal to place all this stuff onto.
Now the audio Dolby AC3, THX, SDDS, plus enough watts to make the S car
move physically in the garage.
And speakers.. Man you've GOT to get some elctrostatic's for center, L&R
front AND rear since the image so well.
Once all this is up an running you'll be relocating to a quiet country
cabin because yer neighbors staged a revolt!
BTW: did you get a 720p or 1080i or the new holy grail 1080p Display?
And is it Sat or Cable derived. Mark Cuban will serve up his HD.net
stuff for a monthly fee.
Don't forget Blu-Ray or Super DVD players to drive all this stuff with a
glorious HD signal.
I'll write off list with more of what little I know of this area!

Folks,
All knowing "master list of all subjects:"
Sorry for the interuption, but I have started venturing down the home
theater slippery slope with the purchase of a plasma tv. Cleveage in
high def closed the deal for me... along with it being time to move
beyond the 20 yr old sony tv I have.
I need speakers for sure and a receiver too I think. 7.1 surround would
be nice. THX too.
Can I connect all this crap up to the digital cable box and a dvd
player? Would like to spend no more than $1500 or so. Good luck to me.
Please email me off list and if anyone cares about this, you can also
email me and I will forward any info learned to you.
cheer's
Bill M
