We're having a baby! Now I plan to do a big go through on the URS6 Avant
to make sure at 190K miles that it will be a good car to haul our child
around in. I plan to do the clutch, clutch master cylinder, fuel pump,
timing belt, all coolant hoses that haven't recently been replaced, fuel
line inspection, and anything else that looks like it might need to be
replaced. Any input on good to change items at this point is greatly
appreciated. Also, I'm gonna need one of those Recaro baby seats, anyone
know a good place to buy one? Thanks,

Congrats man! Hope for a smooth sail for you all. Wild ride.

Good to change items??? Hmmmm... how about a 190k 10 year old finicky
German toy?

Er, uh, ok beyond that 8-)?

You know the car well enough to know really. I'd say basically any
items that have potential to leave you stranded. Battery, check your
starter cable braid, CPS, fuel pump, throw an emergency triangle,
flares, and a blanket in the trunk for the inevitable.

Otherwise, the rest can be limped.

More seriously...

I never heard anything good on them Recaro seats aside from they look
cool. Inaugural //SFest 2002 folk pitched in and got my expecting wife
a Britax, the snobbysnob of snobby baby seats. We've since bought a
2nd, as well as have used a few other Peg Peregos (nice), Gracos, Jeeps,
and other cheapies. The Britax are hands down *the best* we've seen. I
always have the local pigs install ours (you'd be AMAZED at what you are
not doing right! *Seriously*) and they always speak VERY highly of our
seats. Plus it's fun watching dumb broads of authority wearing uniforms
and putting themselves into contorted compromising positions grunting
and groaning struggling with the seats in a crammed car. Was that out
loud?

My useless $0.02, HTH, and again congrats. Oh, and name him or her Paul
8-).
