Ha! Sounds like we've got lots of new daddies out there! I joined the new
daddy club 7 months ago and figure my daughter needs a sport seat just like
her daddy does so I'm considering the Recaro as well. I already have a
Graco for her that she can use until she's 40lbs. I checked into the Recaro
for a replacement for the infant carrier in my wife's Subaru and I'm pretty
sure they're not rear facing compatible. They are for kids over 18lbs and
at least a year old, as stated in the owner's manual that you can download
at the Recaro site. Looks like I'll be waiting and getting her the Recaro
Start in charcoal. Maybe with all the new parents on the list we should
organize a GB on Recaro child seats. We sure need to try to get them on
some kind of discount on them!

Elijah,
Congrats!! Being a 1st time Dad of a 6 month old myself I can
give you a bit of insight in to the Baby Seat thing. Basically I would
not buy the Recaro until the kid is probably 10+ months old or so as the
smallest one they make is for 18-80 pounds. The Recaros will offer
great protection and look cool but I would wait till they are bigger.
The BIG advantages to say just your typical Graco seat is that they snap
in and out of a base and the stroller without..now this is key..."Waking
up the Baby" This I find to be huge ;)
Also not certain the Recaro's support rear facing..but I suspect they
do.
Anyways once the kid is older I am sure I will be looking at one of
those Recaro's too for maybe Dad AND Son
Cheers and Enjoy your sleep now ;)

We're having a baby! Now I plan to do a big go through on the URS6 Avant
to make sure at 190K miles that it will be a good car to haul our child
around in. I plan to do the clutch, clutch master cylinder, fuel pump,
timing belt, all coolant hoses that haven't recently been replaced, fuel
line inspection, and anything else that looks like it might need to be
replaced. Any input on good to change items at this point is greatly
appreciated. Also, I'm gonna need one of those Recaro baby seats, anyone
know a good place to buy one? Thanks,
Elijah
