[s-cars] Concert radio code

I theory, the Concert requires a code. In reality, its a craps shoot; about
half the Concert radios I buy do not need the code (although I do anyways
make sure the radio comes with a code before I buy it).
 To paraphase Bill Gates: Plug and pray.

Guys,

Does the Concert radio take a safety code?

I just got a Concert via ebay and the seller did not include a code. Another
listing states that the Concert does not need a code. I have not tried to
install it yet, so I have no first hand knowledge.
