I do have a nasty reputation for having a not just clean but shiny engine
bay. Check these out:

My secret has been routine cleaning since new. I am the original owner and I
always wipe out the door wells and jams along with the engine bay after every
washing. I also use Gunk engine cleaner in the hard to reach are with a wash
down with my hose nozzle every 2 months or so. I never spray near the
electrical goodies. After the wash down I use a cotton towel to finish up the cleaning.
Next comes a very liberal spraying of Amorall to all the hoses and plastic
bits. I do believe this has helped my hose longevity with the added benefit that
everything looks new.

Having a lot of polished raw aluminum engine parts does require a lot of hand
polishing. All the polishing is something I really enjoy. Its me, Mothers and
a little elbow grease.
