After spending some tuning time with the 928 MAF, I got the chance to take
the car back to the dragstrip again today (Boise, ID)
Again, the strip is at 2700 ft. Tuning the MAF resulted in being able to
eliminate the hunting that had occurred last time out, and the car was pulling
well.
I did 3 runs before the Centerforce cried for mercy. On the third run, it
was slipping hopelessly in 2nd gear, and I decided to call it quits before I
had to tow it home.
Worst run... 12.713 @ 112.65. Best run... 12.400 @ 113.35.
My 60ft times are getting worse as the clutch goes south. My best 60' time
today was a 1.997... almost 2 tenths off the pace from my last visit.
With the right clutch... I think this thing could be bangin' on 11's door.
Problem is, where does one get a better clutch for these cars?
As a side note... I ran my G-Tech Pro RR simultaneously on each run. The
worst variance between my timeslip and my G-Tech: 6/100s of a second. Now
that's what I call impressive for a $300 tool.
For those thinking that trap speeds are better for calculating hp than a
dyno... 113.35mph and 4000lbs come out to 455atw... interesting. Guess that SAE
correction factor isn't too far off after all.
Take care,
Dave
