[s-cars] tire wear on lowered cars

Konstantin;
For the oil leak on the S4, check the oil pressure switch located under the
intake manifold towards the front of the engine. They tend to leak after 10
years or so - easy fix.

Subject: Re: [s-cars] tire wear on lowered cars
Thank you, guys, for responding on my question and, please, accept my
appologies for my delayed response -- I could not get to my e-mail.
Apparently, I am going to save $200 by not doing another alignment. It
looks like my case fits into "aggressive driving with 15K miles out of
tires" category. From other hand... why my 200tqa does not show uneven
wear? It does not have performance tires, though. Does it make a
significant difference?
I've been not able to read digests since winter due to some complications in
my overall life. Time became totally unavailable. I resisted to
acknowledge it and sign off from the list, so I just trash digests and hope
to read them next day. I feel better that way. Same with quattro list. I
also did not do any work on cars for almost a year (last was a head rebuild
and everything around on 200tq '89). But it looks like, I need to get back
to work on both cars if I don't want to end up with no transportation. Oil
leak developed on S4, somewhere under intake manifold (I thought bad clamps
but replacing/tightening did not help). 200tqa does something funny: AC
clutch does not turn off on the running car (can not locate damn relay );
autocheck starts when I open driver's door; autocheck, battery, engine
lights stay on when ignition is off. Everything except clutch problem seems
to be rain related (ground?!) and intermittent. Doesn't it sound like a
fun? :-)
Thanks again. It is hard to overestimate the help from the list.
Konstantin.
