Subject: Re: [s-cars] First Cars
My son's first car was a 1990 Audi 200 he drove senior year in high
school.
At first he resisted driving a "big fat pig" but changed his mind after
kids
in school thought it was a "cool car". He also quickly figured out that
it
was faster than almost all cars the other kids were driving. And a
Quattro
in winter with 4 snow tires made Dad sleep a lot better.

Comic relief:
Soooooooooooo, then, me parents weren't that wise to let me commute "to
school" (at least that's where they THOUGHT I went off to in the a.m...
catholic school to boot) in my er um uh '76 VW Microbus Westfalia?
What... curtains, beds, tables, captains chairs, and 17 yr. old
hormones / habits aren't a good combo or something???? How I fleeced my
conservative parents into that one I'll never know.
Damn magnesium engine block, shoulda seen THAT fire in the school lot
one sad a.m. 6 months later. D'oh. Fun while it lasted. Safety's a
good thing tho, I tossed my 242 into some trees a few months later,
walked away scratchless. So yes, Volvo 240 gets my vote for stupid
kid's car, fersure.

Ah to be young and dumb again, now I'm just one of the 2, and how...
