I don't know about the '81, but wasn't the '91 saab 9000 the result
of a platform sharing venture with Fiat and some other car maker?
Might explain a lot of problems.
A cousin of mine had an early 90's Fiat Croma that was also part of
this platform deal. Nice roomy car, drove well, frightening electrics.
I give just an example: transmit on a hand held CB radio in the back
seat and the driver's window rolls up.
